Downtown Toledo came alive with color, music, and celebration as thousands gathered for the annual Toledo Pride Parade, part of the city’s three-day Pride Festival. Marchers carried vibrant rainbow balloon sculptures spelling out the word “LOVE,” a central theme of the event that emphasizes unity, visibility, and support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
The parade stretched down Adams Street, where both sides of the street were lined with cheering spectators. Flags waved from businesses and homes, while festivalgoers dressed in bright attire reflected the celebratory spirit of the day. According to organizers, more than 20,000 attendees participated in this year’s Pride events, making it one of the largest in Northwest Ohio.

The parade featured floats, community groups, local businesses, and nonprofit organizations, all marching in solidarity. The balloon display of the word “LOVE” quickly became one of the most photographed symbols of the day, capturing the message of the weekend.

“Seeing everyone come together in joy and support is what makes Toledo Pride so special,” said Avery Thompson, a volunteer who has marched in the parade for several years. “It’s not just about celebration—it’s about visibility, and showing that love always wins.”
Toledo Pride is recognized not only regionally but also by the travel and tourism industry. According to a local guide, the event serves as “Northwest Ohio’s largest LGBTQIA+ celebration,” encompassing drag performances, live music, and a strong sense of inclusion throughout the weekend. Toledo Pride, which celebrated its 16th year in 2025, continues to grow both in size and in cultural impact. The parade, along with concerts, family-friendly activities, and the Big Rainbow Bar Crawl, reinforces the city’s role as a hub for LGBTQIA+ visibility in Northwest Ohio.
From the balloon-filled parade to the community booths at Promenade Park, the event underscored its core message: love in all its forms deserves to be celebrated openly and proudly.
